This event is co-sponsored by Tigard Turns the Tide, a community coalition dedicated to building resiliency, promoting mental wellness, and preventing underage drinking and drug use so youth can reach their full potential. Volunteers at this event will receive resources to help them speak to youth about substance use and prevention.
For this activity, volunteers will make no-sew fleece tie blankets in Town Hall at City Hall with members of the Tigard Youth Advisory Council (scroll down to Youth Advisory Council) and Tigard Turns the Tide. The City will deliver these blankets to shelters in Tigard. Fleece fabric and scissors provided, but if you have them, please bring fabric scissors to share. Feel free to also bring new fleece fabric as well; this is optional but just means we can make more blankets!
